My Proposal
Vision
My main vision for this media award show was to give the
young people an opportunity to experience an Oscar or Grammy like award show on
their own age scale. I believe it is important to celebrate young people’s
achievements to give them a reason to continue with the hobbies they are doing
whether that be music, dance or acting. As the performing arts industry is so
heavily trafficked. It’s a tough business to make a success in so it is
important to give the young people an opportunity to celebrate their achievements
from the previous year.
Times
4pm - 10pm
Location
Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School
School and Sports field/mugas
Capacity
We can accommodate 220 at one time throughout the event.
How the evening will go
The award show will be split into four parts, starting with the
youngest years and rising to the young adults. (14-21 years). This is obviously to
get the younger people home early for the next day.
The four categories are
Music
Dance
Acting
Sports
As sports are so broad we will not be able to take it down
to individual sports but more so ‘sports personality’ or ‘best young athlete’.
This way all of the sports are included under one bracket.
Specially nominated groups from each group will have an
opening performance to introduce their category.
The Liverpool Lord Mayor will open the awards show with she own words about the event and what his thoughts are on it. The mayor will also have a special award which she will present herself and it will be her choice and the reasoning is her own.
As for the rest of the awards there will be votes held publicly and
each nomination will be able to present themselves before the votes are
counted. This way there is a fair vote and the public vote will decide the
winner. To stop bias, people will not be able to vote for people in the same
club as them. This keeps the vote as fair as possible.
Funding
The funding for my event will come from donations and four separate sponsorship deals relating to the event, so for example Everton Football Club will
help endorse this event whilst Vagabonds Tennis club will also support the event.
People around Everton Football Club such as Leighton Baines (Previously a premier league player for EFC and England) will be invited down to endorse and promote the events on his social media and link in to his sponsors.
Cost
There will be family tickets on sale for £10 and
individual tickets will be £5. This will include a free drink and a burger meal.
50 % of all money raised from the event will go back
into the City and particularly poorer areas across the City to make it a nicer place to
live and encourage more and more children to take up hobbies within the
performing arts and sports to give focus and meaning and stay off the streets.
Health and Safety
Multiple measures for health and safety will be put in place on the day. Staff and volunteers will help people throughout the day and support those who may be lost to help direct them to their correct areas/family/friends.
Furthermore there will be limits on alcohol distributed
during the night. (Token system)
There will be over 100 members of temporary staff hired (Sixth Form students, work experience) to support the event, all we be in high viz equipment jackets and bibs will be provided, this will also be a part of the original budget.
There will be numerous first aiders on site.
